Respond to this video... i meant to say dave brock was buying a brew like a normal guy (which he is) ozrics were playing as the police and i think army hovererd over head it was like time of the hawklords (moorcock) the musics was blasing out keeping the forces of darkness at bay..we went to the outdoors to escape and have our non violent gatherings you respected your peers they were friendly ..maybe its a romantic vision..but they had to outlaw us and bring us back it was a sub culture
-
@MorkaGraven would not speak to me cos they had two goats and a chicken..anyway i remember dave brock buying a brew (tea) at a stall ..im glad i was there but it seemed like the end of an era hawks were the peoples band ive seen nik t ,and gladly robert calvert he died soon after.. but i love pink floyd as much ..i always think the rock scene was the best wish i could go back .. ps.listened to dead can dance if not i am sure you would like them..anyway nice talking neil
-
@MorkaGraven I AGREE i only used the bieber as a contrast he seems to have become an icon for all that has gone wrong ..hes probably an ok guy good luck to him ! we just dont seem to get concept albums anymore .maybe im old and out of touch stuff like church of hawkwind. i remember i was at westbury alterate stonehenge i was young and green but the older convoy heads treated you with a bit of respect.i knew a few from wales ..but the conflict attracted the violent types .people id known for
-
@assinomen They're the most appreciated of Pink Floyd albums and have very much eschewed a lot of the earlier creativity within the band, removing a lot of the progressive rock elements for a more straightforward concept album of "rock songs".

@MorkaGraven D,S O T M &THE WALL I WOULD NOT SAY THEY ARE POPPY IN ANY WAY VERY DARK AND DEPRESSING WHAT IS IT WITH ROGER WATERS AND THE WAR? I THINK JUSTIN BIEBER COULD DO A GOOD COVER OF THE WALL
-
Broadstem mate, get the Hawkwind Zoo original (it was a demo actually believe it or not) before they dropped the 'Zoo' in their name, but it's by far a better version. But I am biased of course......... cos it's the first version I heard! Great song no matter what version eh?
-
@fagend123 got it v scratchy but diff

@panzermort Get over to the moors above Baslow in Derbyshire and we'll get stoned!
-
@kazraz72 so bloody true m8, we used to head up to remote areas in our area like bidston hill on the wirral and other places , now youd be too worried in case youd get your head ripped off ah well
-
I like the turntable too, funny how unbalanced the tonearm is floating...;-)
-
@jazomir One thing I do appreciate Hawkwind for, is that their famous albums aren't worse than their less famous albums.
I mean, Dark Side of The Moon and The Wall are both very pop-sounding to an extent, although arranged in a complex manner, they are nothing compared to Wish you were here or Atom Heart Mother.
-
@panzermort Ha Ha! Yes, I remember now. God, it's been that long since I had any. To be honest, even if I could get some it wouldn't be the same now. When I was a teenager I lived in the peak district so it was great, we could go up on the moors. But now there are too many piss heads/idiots shouting in the street etc at night so I don't think it would make for a very good trip. Must go back to Derbyshire and have some there!
I remember tripping on mushrooms to this when i was14 or 15 around 86/87. Always wished i'd been there when it actually came out. Mind you, there were damn good mushrooms. Anybody know fox house near Grindleford in England? Best mushrooms ever back then.

@kazraz72 The stately Kentish house called Knole, where the Beatles filmed their Strawberry Fields video, has always had an amazing secret crop in the backwoods
