can ssdi be denied based on the activities of daily living forms? my doctor supports my claim 100% and has all the mri and x rays needed to show why he supports my cliam for disability due to oa,ddd, spinal stenosis with nerve compression. From what I understand there is a treating physician rule and if he supports me then why did ssa/dds send me the forms.

@fhatdade Not necessarily---how OFTEN? How many times per day/week/month? How far--on flat ground? To where? Can you do so "on the spur of the moment"? If not, why? Due to disability/fatigue? How far do you walk? Do you any assistive devices? If so, what? Are they prescribed/recommended by your physician--or, do you so due to discomfort--be honest about this---they are looking for CREDIBILITY. Better yet, have your treating doctor document this in your records.

They look for people who lie and say they can't do anything like walk, clean, read, go shopping etc.

Activites of Daily living have nothing to do with a mental disability.

what if you have a bad back and are 300lbs because you are no longer active
and your doctors tell you to lose wieght .
and you are applying for disabilty for back injury.
before you were albe to dance, play basketball/touch football
yet since hurting your back your activies are limited to walking or riding on a bike trail.
yet you feel you cant work any longer.
how does one exercise without worrying that ..oh you can ride a bike and take walks your not disabled?

what is the success rate for disabled veterans getting ssdi approval etc.
I just posted a video addressing your question.
