It really doesn't astound me because I always felt that Palin was incompetent. She stays in one position just long enough to crap over everything, then leaves for more lucrative ventures. Arrogant, ignorant, incompetent, and the opposite of a leader.

Sarah needs an education as powerful as a mentally challenged adult would need help feeding and cleaning themselves. In defense, most people wouldn't know that our understanding of Asperger's comes partly from Drosophila. BUT, a Vice Presidential candidate with an autistic child who mock's fruit fly research is as ignorant as Steve Schmidt said; she knows NOTHING.

Drosophila research is useful to the public. I listened to a professor talk about his fly research, and it's not like we can directly translate the results to humans and hope it works, but it's important in understanding important cellular mechanisms. Fly research by itself probably can't cure cancer or neurodegenerative disease but we're one step closer to it by doing it. So... in conclusion Palin's an idiot.
