Sounds like the HDD seeking. Probably a Maxtor, I think they are the noisiest drives out there. WD's are the best.

Mine is making almost the exact same noise. It will constantly click. I haven't figured out what is causing it yet. But the sound is driving me crazy.

that's completely normal. the disc drive is just reading the disc. It's just loud as hell. :P

all i did was put some pressure on top of the Xbox when i start it and it works

I just bought the splinter cell one and splinter cell doesn't work it freezes but makes the sound wen it's says u need to clean ur disc but it doesn't show up only for a split second wen I turn it off or go to dashboard and it's making a different clicking noise then I'm used to wen it spins the discs I'm playing on please give me feed back if u know wits wrong and if I should bring it back to best buy cuz xbox.com ain't helpful at all

ya me to but only once and when its reading the disc but one time with one demo disc it would not stop and only with games with lots of scratches :'(
