Here's something. I've been through Scottish schooling up until now and I, nor any of my friends and family currently in primary or highschool have SEEN A FREE DINNER!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if you've got a child going to school in Scotland, you'll have to pay £1 for their dinner, but if they went to school in England you'd only be 43p out of pocket...

You can just call me an arrogant American if you want, but if Britain isn't going to act like a unitary state and treat everyone the same, she should act like a federation and only have Scottish taxes pay for Scotland's internal programs, and English taxes pay for England's programs. You'd never see Texans paying for California's schools.

The UK is alive constitutionally but it's dead in spirit. The life support is the Barnett Formula and other Scottish subsidies used to prolong their inevitable succession from the Union.
