2) I've used Maya 2008 for this excercise, I'm a 2D animator learning abit of 3D. Glad you like it!

Nicely done but the timing is a little too slow. Try to make the animation look funnier, even if it's a little jumpy. That would be my advice. Well done. I was just offered a job at Pixar but had to turn it down because I couldn't move my whole family up there. Staying at Disney for now...
