Alright everyone... The fucking song is not about Banana peels, duh. And only the "electrical banana" Donovan said he was refering to a vibrator.,
What the song is actually about, as stated by Donovan himself, is his bout with Hepatitis. Mellow yellow refers to Jaundice (medical condition causing your skin to appear yellow) which is caused by hepatitis.
You can all believe wtf you wanna believe, this is what the song was about.

@777RainingBlood Obviously Purple Haze and Mellow Yellow weren't on the same page. I'm not that stupid. I know what Purple Haze is about. Why does it make me so naive to believe it was about vibrators? It's not like I think Donovan didn't smoke his flipping brains out. I know he did.
