The smart Australians have not paved-over their entire continent like America has ruined its frontier and still have their outback to remind them what RIGHT LOOKS LIKE; they know the value of having long-range, air-mech-strike forces (AMS-Fs) with light mechanized infantry even using our own M113 Gavin light tank/APCs and C-130 short-take-off and landing, airdrop capable weaponry used to greater effect than we are doing at this moment.

This video shows the extent of the Oceania security challenge facing the Australian Army, Air Force and Navy and how they have met this task with amazing ingenuity and far less cost than the U.S. military wastes getting itself killed and maimed overseas for minimal strategic effects. The Aussies have stabilized East Timor and contributed major forces to Afghanistan and Iraq to try to bail-out us Americans from our self-created FUBAR SNAFUs.

The crafty Diggers are also fully upgrading ALL of their Gavins into M113AS4 configuration....yet another demonstration of what the U.S. Army should be doing...and at one time knew was the right thing to do...

Abstract : Organization, operations, and vehicle performance of M-113 armored personnel carrier-equipment mechanized rifle troops of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) were evaluated during counterinsurgency operations from 1 February 1963 to 31 March 1964 in the Republic of Vietnam. Troops were observed as they engaged in training, maintenance, and combat operations in each of the four corps tactical zones of South Vietnam. It was found that the ARVN mechanized rifle troop, with the exception of the support platoon, was well-organized and equipped for counterinsurgency operations. The evaluation revealed that the M-113 armored personnel carrier (APC) can fulfill the assault vehicle or tank role in counterinsurgency operations such as those conducted in the Republic of Vietnam when the insurgents have no armor and limited antiarmor capability. Optimum tactics and techniques for mechanized rifle troops were not determined. However, these units were most successful when employed offensively. The ARVN mechanized rifle troops can successfully perform amphibious operations in light surf, and can negotiate inundated areas in the RVN. A self-recovery means and other expedients are required for the M-113 when operating in terrain such as found in the delta region of Vietnam. The APC operated best in the relatively open, inundated areas of the delta and coastal lowlands. (Author)

  • I'm confused as to why an American would make a video like this about the Australian Army? :/

  • America needs light, air-mechanized infantry in M113 Gavins, too. We may have created it but we need to relearn it; the smart Aussies can be our inspiration.

"I was a 19D Scout for 11 years, the first six on 113s, then the piece of s**t Brads. For Scouts, it couldn't get worse than the Bradley....too big, too heavy, too loud, too complex, and too slow to keep up with the M1s it's supposed to support. A 113A3 runs rings around it, the only advantage a Brad has is firepower, but if you're a bigger target than a tank without the armor to take hits like a tank, a Brad's firepower doesn't mean a thing."

  • Nice mix tape of Army videos. The random and constant featuring of that electro-dance track really ruins it though...I mean...what the fuck?

  • Point noted, we will remix and make a version as you suggest.

  • @30sectodeath Australia isn't like america or europe where every second women is a slut. Pull your head out.

  • Just a few points, we designed the Bushmster, and the new Hawkei MRAP vehicles, in Ute form as well, of course, and the Nulka ACM for the protection of ships in several navies, also the new multihulls coming on line in th USN and USMC, the new AUSPAR system on the HMAS Perth is an impressive system, and Metalstorm is still alive and kicking, and about to change the way we do point defence, on land and at sea, the M113AS4 is way more protected and mobile than it was before, in all, innovative.

  • @30sectodeath Funny as it may sound, you are close to unbelievably wrong. I have been up and down most of the entire east cost, where the majority population is, and there isnt a single pimp or prostitute where i've been. Unless you are refering to seeing whores in the outback chasing goanas around for the Aboriginies?

  • USA love Australia cos they are full of pussy lol

  • The Australian Defence force may not be the biggest or the most high tech but if ever any one invaded Australia, we would kick the shit out of them
