NEC biriminghan Quilt show was brill, Susan from Africa who lives half way up a welsh mountine i hope you enjoyed it. lots of lovely quilts, quilters and stalls.Yoshiko Katagin fish quilts , and the patterns made by the tent makers of Ciro and red and white Russian lace were fab. one of my favs the18th foundling Hospital hanging each Square a story of a child left with scrap of its old life if its mother sould come back for it.Among the new there were three stands with the old , The Quilt museum York, brought there crazy patchwork collection,including a tea cosy. they are showing Celebrations included a quilted wedding dress till the end of August, then Quilting fom the Isles showing some of there quilt collection. Jane and Perterson Cobbett had a few of thier pices on there Stand. The Herbert Art gallery Coventery, is showing some of there quilts/ A Stich in Time;story of patchwork. www.theherbert.org. The American Museum Bath, brought some of the quilts they exibited last year. Marilyn rules this year. the Museum is 50 this year and a anniversary quilt was being Raffled in aid of the Textile room with its quilt fan. £50,000 Is Needed to update the room. Linda and Laura Kemshall show With Hand and Hart will be moving from Wales to Redditch and the Forge Mill Needle Museum, from Sunday 16 September, to Sunday 23rd of October. 2011 www.forgemill.org.uk for more informatiom.
