http://www.therenegadehealthshow.com - Here are two great questions that I received from the blog over the last few days...

First one is "Are rolled oats raw?"

And second, due the popularity of the spinach miso recipe, "Is miso only made with soy?"

In this episode I address them both AND talk about the event that is RAWking the raw world! :-)

Take a look...

  • Hi there! It depends on the company. Most raisins (at least that are available in lower BC) are dried at a temp below 105F, but I would call the company directly. Most companies provide contact numbers on the packaging, or you can search for them online. However, most companies use sulpher as a preserving/drying agent, and this isn't the good stuff. Up to you if you are Ok with this :)

  • PS I will DEFINITELY be attending the Rawkathon!!!!

  • Hi there! In the last video he did state that miso is not raw :)

By the way: AWESOME shirt, Kevin!!!

Thank you to Kevin and all the raw foodists in the community and in the limelight for all the wisdom you have to share :)

  • Do water ionizer help improving ones health?

  • Interesting, but you missed the most important point about miso - miso is NOT raw. Not by any means. The beans or grains used are always steamed before the fermentation process begins.

  • I thought that Scottish or Irish oat are not steamed. They are stored in vacuum sealed containers, because they will go bad very fast once exposed to air. As well, I don't cook oatmeal, because oats taste better raw. I put them in a dry blender and blend them into a powder, add water and eat. I am told that Scottish or Irish oat have lots of vitamin B. Let me know if I am miss informed.

    Thanks

    Travis

  • Are raisins raw?
