For those interested in flying at or joining the SMMAC (Southern-Minnesota-Model-Aircraft-Club) air field in Owatonna Minnesota go to there web page http://www.smmac.com/start/ or check out there face book page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Southern-Minnesota-Model-Aircraft-Club/11492182...
About SMMAC offers a fun atmosphere for all pilots and their families. We offer a 1200 foot simulated asphalt runway situated on 12 acres of beautiful grass with an open field area that is free of obstructions. The children will enjoy the playground that has 2 slides and plenty of room for them to run around. There are gas grills for members and their families to use. There are clean portable restrooms for your convenience. We also have 120 volt ac / 12 volt DC power along the flight line. The Field House serves as a shelter, hangar, and general hang out space for all.
Field maintenance fees are already added in the cost of the membership.
All the pilots of the SMMAC club are friendly and willing to help with all aspects of the radio controlled aviation spectrum.

  • there is a saying us rc pilots use...it's not if.. but when you crash .. :) and keep it tree mistakes high! lol

  • @fastestcararound very very TRUE LOL ... I know that from lots of experience lol

    thanks for watching

  • Classic example of an approach to landing stall. I would imagine that distance combined with high wind makes it difficult to judge Vref (landing speeds), especially with large models--which have less surplus power. My hats off to RC pilots, who are experts at nailing approach speeds by eye alone--at a distance.

If I ever start flying big and expensive RC models like twin featured here, It will never leave the ground without onboard FPV to monitor landing airspeed.

  • @fractalbeliever yes it can be very difficult to judge airspeed in that high of wind... I am kinda glad I am not at that level yet to worry about such expensive rc I will stick to my alpha 40 for now ... lol thanks for watching

  • There very little more annoying than wind noise in a microphone. They have a new thing out for that. It is called foam rubber.

  • @ardvarkkkkk1 this was filmed on a old crapy camera

  • did the pilots survive?

  • @eimb1999 Sure is. Sound quality is up to the producer. I shouldn't have to correct what should have been done in the first place. In any case, he posted an explanation already.

  • Is this a candidate for the show "Destroyed in Seconds"? Too bad about the crash. It was a beautiful model.

  • @ardvarkkkkk1 : There is a volume control on your system isn't there?

  • Expensive airplane filmed with a fucking cell phone camera. Thanks, thanks for another youtube piece of shit..
