Something very creepy is happening at an old house. 4th Arch Oboler story. I think this one is probably the most well known . They even based a Simpsons ep off this.

If you think about it, the outside of a persons' skin and digestive tract form a single surface, like certain bag-like toys. So, if it were possible to turn someone inside out -- it's not, except using computer animation, with mathematical transposition -- then the outside would be a "casing", like a sausage casing, comprised of the digestive tract. Gross! BTW, the grossest thing in this radio show is the sound when they turn inside out. 288! (That's too gross -- 2x144)

I heard this on Old Time Radio driving home at midnight over a decade ago and it was so disturbing -- creepy -- I'd never heard anything like it before. Quite well done. It's especially good for radio. I'm of the opinion that the best of this genre leaves the most to the imagination. I don't like graphic movies. I don't even like horror at all, but I'm intrigued by just the technical aspects and story telling here.

It is clearly just an alien life form curious about humans. Once it has examined enough humans, it will move into examining household pets, then garden gnomes.

But...I think I'm going to sleep with the lights on tonight...
