A convincing presentation. I am planning to avoid buying a gasoline powered car as my first vehicle.

with the present technology the price to drive a mile will be 1/2....and the efficiency of solar capture is still improving......

If any countries government decrees that you may still own gas car but no manufacture can produce, sell, or import gas cars starting tomorrow, You will see the manufacture move like you never seen a manufacture move before.
EVs would be selling and charging stations would be installed by the end of that week :)

You can only compare ev cars sold per year against gas cars sold. The number of gas to ev cars will not reach equilibrium unless gas cars are literally taken from owners and scrapped and recycled.
