One Sunday, I took a day trip to Gatchina park with a co-worker. The park is probably a bit more interesting in the summer when it isn't snowed over, but I thought this video captures something of the essence of the Russian winter. It's actually a very nice place as long as you're dressed for it, which I wasn't quite.

  • Good day. Watched yur LP and now found this channel. Some interesting view on Russia. I would like to explain the meaning of some words.

Берегись поезда - beware of trains

учебно исторический класс авиационного двигателестроения и ремонта - historical classes of aircraft engine production and repair

Павильон Венеры - pavilion of Venus and working hours

  • @1981nopainnogain Отлично. Спасибо за ваш перевод.

  • Thanks for the new videos. Always nice to see all those places in the world I'll probably never get to. About how cold is it there this time of year?

  • @Slail On this day, I think it was something like -7 degrees Celsius, which isn't even all that cold for Saint Petersburg at this time of year; the problem is the wind, which makes the cold much worse, especially since I wasn't quite dressed for it. Before winter is over, we'll probably see some days where it goes below -20 Celsius.

  • I feel you, LateBlt :) We few days ago we went geocashing in -15 °C so I can relate :D

Thanks for uploading videos. Love your vibe :)

  • glad to see some travelvlogs LB. looks cold, I bet you're right that the pond the ducks & pigeons swam on was heated. or....it could be that the people there are fattening up the ducks for Foi Gras!

  • Lateblt, you're a good dude.

  • I love these little videos, so I Hope you keep making them, wherever your travels take you. :)

  • @LateBlt2 I really can't imagine being that cold. But I've always lived further south.

  • Great videos, love them! Going to Russia in a year or so, just studying at the moment!

  • Another great video, i really look forward to them :)

Also one thing is universal in this life no matter what the country, and thats that you have to feed the ducks!...and there's always a damn bridge full of padlocks! *ive seen that myself many times in various places lol*

  • Those pigeons are pretty tame just hopping around between people.

How do you get down off a duck?
