The Saint Louis Zoo Commissioned this Video Art piece from Illustrated Man to draw attention to its $120 million fundraising campaign, "The Living Promise." Its title "Living Art," refers to the campaign itself, as well as the Zoo animals as living art. It was debuted at a live kick-off event in June of 2010.
The video composition, written and directed by Illustrated Man Senior Creative Director Joe ("Mama") Mason, is ". . . a take on what a music video should be for a classical piece of music." Based on Beethoven's timeless and poignant Moonlight Sonata, it interweaves the sound of individual instruments, colors, and magical smoke in shapes that amaze and entrance, as animals take form, move, and then release themselves back into the environment. Every aspect of this video was produced at Illustrated Man, including the Creative, recording of individual instruments, music mixing and mastering, all 2-D and 3-D animation, and video editing.
I totally agree. I'm an animal fanatic & basically a beethoven groupie...so obviously i'm completely gaga over this. So intense!

C'monnn moonlight sonata is like the ultimate classic!? I like it the way it is. Regardless...it's hands down the coolest video I've seen about animals in a looong time.

Goosebumps? idk about all that..awesome graphics but in reality this is just a dumbed down version of fantasia..chariots of fire would have been a MUCH better theme song..
