  • who is this woman at 5:41 next to marie antoinette?

  • @T0T0RU

It is the princesse de Lamballe, it is said the very faithful and true friend of Marie antoinette. She was lately brutally murdered becouse the people knew she was the Queen´s confidante.

  • This looks like a fantastic movie, and Jane Seymour makes a great Marie Antoinette. What a shame it doesn't have English subtitles - to my shame, after seven years at school studying French I still can't understand much more than the basics of the language. Thanks for posting this!

but your english is very good, but my friend there is a english version of the French revolution here on youtube. If you search these words: The French revolution English. you will find it for sure. :)

  • I'm inclined to say that she wasn't really betraying France, during all that correspondance she was basically begging for help to re establish the throne, it was more like a desperate attempt to save her life and that of the King. Their lives were literally at danger every day of the revolution.

  • I'm one of the historians who would agree with you, though others argue that she was indeed guilty of treason! As I see it (similar to you) she was only guilty of this crime towards the revolutionary order. Therefore, she was trying to preserve the royal order through her telling of army secrets. Hence helping to restore the "authentic" regime.

  • me da pena la revolucion francesa mas aun cuando a ese niño le torturaron y para que?? para una restauracion, sin sentido

  • @TheAmericanEvita she says they should ask madame ettiquette to show them "la bonne facon" to milk a cow...in this case "la bonne facon" means "the proper way" according to court ettiquette...

  • I don't understand much French but when she's talking with her girlfriends while milking that cow she's making joke about "Madame Etiquette" her nickname for the Countess De Noailles the head mistress of the court at Versailles who met her at the border btwn France & Austria upon her arrival to France. She was very strict and served as her etiquette instructor at Versailles. She seems to have joked "What if Madame Etiquette were milking cows ?" LOL

  • @CHCANY

ah it is lamballe, that was i said to me when i watch more of teh film , know who lamballe is, but i wasn't sure if it is lamballe or the polignac, because of that i asked ^^ but then, after i watch the scene before i knew that :) Anyway thanks that you wrote me :)

  • La Revolution Francaise was simultaneously shot in both French and English. The English version is extremely rare and not available on DVD. The great score by Georges Delerue is equally rare on CD, though released twice...

  • ....???think before you act...)))
