His vocals remind me on some parts to Peter Gabriel's vocals on early Genesis. Or maybe I'm just high on cocaine
-
I think his eyebrows are moving?!
-
@Tarabos1 I definitely agree with you man. :) That's how the world runs.
-
try playing this shit on rockband on the drums, jesus christ
-
@lettybones *sigh* I was talking about WWII.
-
@postigaceltic what are you talking about? 40s and 50s music inspired everything from the 60s and 70s
-
@Tarabos1 Yeah, I love punk.
-
@Tarabos1 Now imagine what kind of music would be around 1943-44, if you say that punk brought the black cloud.

BadASS LINE

They manage to impress on their 1st album.
Wouldn't expect anything less from GG.
God-Bless you GG.
-
@Tarabos1 I don't care that your comment is 2 years old...YOURE SO RIGHT! (unfortunately...)
-
I bought the self-titled Gentle Giant album but it sat beneath the likes of Ummagumma, King Crimson, Yes, Selling England By The Pound, Every Good Boy Deserves A Favor, ELP, Meddle, so I didn't listen to it much. And as each year passed Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd and ELP continued to produce the best in Prog. I'm sorry. I love Jethro Tull but I cannot consider them Prog.
-
@Tarabos1 I was not able to experience that, but I still know it was a dark day when punk took away prog's presence. It's still here, but, unfortunately, prog is not nearly as strong as it once was.

@Thrashaholicdan Cheese is good! I like Cheese too! Especially Swiss and White Cheddar! Yummmmmmmm! REally like/love Gentle Giant, but this is one of my least favorite albums of all they created! Oh Well
-
@Tarabos1 Don't worry, we're working on sorting that one out, pops. Would help if your generation could die a bit quicker so we wouldn't have to spend all our time funding your old age, and could spend more of it making good music like this :)
-
|Just imagine getting home from the record shop having bought this solely on the strength of the picture on the sleeve and hearing THIS blasting out of the speakers of your dad's HiFi!!! That was it .....GG forever!!
-
I like both the Damned and Gentle Giant
-
so gooddd
-
@numba1pinoy what about the music of today
-
@Kruegerisgod Oh, come on. He's smiling ;)
-
Great song but the album cover creeps me the fuck out
-
Wow, even ignoring today's worthless scene you are way off the mark. 80s was the birth of modern metal: Thrash metal (Metallica, Megadath, Slayer), classic/NWOBHM (Iron Maiden - 4 of the most classic albums in music 82 - 88), Prog metal (Dream Theater, Fates Warning) Epic metal (Manowar, Mannila Road) Power Metal (Helloween, Blind Guardian) - and the 70s had ABBA and Leo Sayer
-
@hubcool367 The "clouds of evil" started with Boston's first album. Punk was the attempt of low to no talent non-musicians to take over the music BIZ! IMO
-
My first "progressive experience", back in the 90s.
How much I love this outstanding band.
throwing me back to summer 1975, when (my) life was alright (yet). Early cigarettes and pernod drinks tasted wonderful. Most young people were nice and helpful to each other..Legacy of the 1968s movement began to fruit. Led Zepp still made chart music (!) The nature was more healthy than now, you could rely on weather forecasts etc. Black clouds arrived with the punk movement and the spirit of evil conquered the world a couple of years later (1982 ?) Things went downhill since (mediaculture)
