To go that fast with a R1, it takes balls the size of the bike
to go that fast with a Porsche, it takes a wallet the size of the bikers balls

I invite you Jeremy Clarkson to come and follow your mate Jason Plaiter around that track whilst you Ride my Ducati 1198s and you have to stay with him for a few laps. I think Clarkson should ride a proper superbike for himself. Would love to see the look on his face. ps bikers know this was a set up for the show. He wasn't even using half the revs on the bike.

@teamsleepnine Wrong again, this is one of Clarksons Christmas release videos. It's called Head to Head and was released in 1999

If I had the money, the Porsche..
But bikes have a very high price to performance ratio, so I would take the bike.

lol one 250 competicion its what it takes to that porche shit
-
this is super false lol

I sorta want to see a 840 evo and a R1 go head to head on the track

@speedfreaksUSA Good rider? Ex-500cc racer Neil McKenzie, podium finisher in his time. What he thought he was doing on this day I don't know. What a dick, he barely leaned the bike over. This video was a top gear setup.

Oh Neil Mac you shamed us this day. There are zillions of vids showing lesser bike mag journos beating all the best supercars including the cream of the Lambos. What were you doing this day Neil Mac? I'll put it down to cold tyres. But braking. Leon Haslam can outbrake the best of the cars, why not you? Did your knee ever touch down? You shamed us you bell end. I lost a lot of respect for Neil Mac this day. Clearly a complete setup.

@teamsleepnine is not old top gear is clarkson dvd head to head !!!!!
okay... so you can spend some 100K on a car, or spend 10k on a bike that is only a fraction slower around this track and faster in the real world, where most people tend to drive/ride anyway. i must say, 10k is much better than 100k

I'm a fairly good car driver, I've done lots of trackdays with my 1200kg/350-400hp turbo car. On the 600cc bike, I'm a learner becoming intermediate-level after 3 months constant riding. Already I can see that the car would only go quicker on tight bumpy corners or corners with dirt or oil in parts where they can keep the speed up more and keep it moving.
I've driven the car 4 times in 3 months since buying the bike.
Don't buy a bike unless you have lots of self control or you are older.
