This is a video of me building and showing my custom handmade 3x3x5. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to build it. I did use a tutorial online by a YouTuber named CBCuber. His tutorial is great, best one around =) If you have the time, please check out his channel for more quality video's.

This was made from one WitEden Super 3x3 and 2 Cube4Your 3x3x4 cubes. You can use just one 3x3x4 and a couple of pieces from a rubiks brand puzzle, but then you would have top use sculpt material. Using 2 3x3x4's is just easier.

This is an extremely fun puzzle not just because it's a cuboid and different than the typical rubiks cube style puzzle, but because it shape shifts, giving it an even harder edge.

If I had to get rid of all of my twisty puzzles and keep just one, I'd definitely just keep this one. After I built it, I felt a sense of pride. I didn't buy the puzzle. Sure I bought the pieces, sure I didn't make the design for it, but I still built it myself and I felt pretty proud after I did it. Holding a puzzle you've wanted for a very long time and knowing you were the maker of it feels good. The first time you turn it you will understand haha.

I highly encourage you to go buy these puzzles and build the cube yourself. It did not take me long to build it at all.

~*~ Please do not think this video is a tutorial. The beginning sequence was purely entertainment. If you are able to build this puzzle strictly from what you saw in the beginning sequence then that would easily make any grumpy pants into a happy pants ~*~

  • i can buy 1 of these for £20

  • @SamsunSony123 the ones that you see online are not fully functional. They are just 3x3 cubes with extensions. Please PM me a link to where you find this.

  • @crazybadcuber no its functional, its official rubiks, its in the toy store where i live

  • @SamsunSony123 I have a very very hard time believing that however I don't' live everywhere around the world, however if it's rubiks brand it would definitely be on the website and it's not. Maybe somebody made it. The next time your there take a picture and show me.

  • Just a small tip. When super-gluing plastic it's always good to pin the two pieces together with a bit from a paperclip or any small steel rod. Just drill a really small hole through both pieces and then add the pin and some superglue. It makes the bond a lot stronger and more durable.

  • @foil666 yeah but then I have a hole in my pieces. I dunno, makes sense I guess but I've never had any kind of problem just holding the pieces together for a couple minutes.

  • Isn't the guy who made the tutorial named CBCubes, not CBCuber?

  • @crazybadcuber i could be wrong, it might not be rubiks but its an official kids toy and it works, ill take a pic, but i dont go there often

  • @crazybadcuber And that's when you bring out the epoxy sculpt, or drill in an unseen area if one is available. Mind you, it isn't a necessity, for a puzzle like this, but when dealing with parts that are under more stress it's just safer.

  • @deathcheze nice! Shape shifting puzzles are my favourite kind of puzzle.
