    There is only one 'original action heroine' & she is featured in the (1986) block buster 'Aliens' - Lt. Elen Ripley portrayed by Sigorney Weaver.

    What made the character 'Lt. Elen Ripley' awesome is that, when faced with a problem she attempted to solve it 'by the book' before over coming it 'her way' -this made her character realistic.

    As an 'Alien' fan - as far as I'm concerned the Alien franchise ended with the second installment.

    Every heroine - who came after is just a photo copy.

    I agree with most of this list. I would've included Angelina Jolie- Wanted, Jessica Biel- Blade Trinity, Michelle Pfieffer- Catwoman, Rhona Mitra- Doomsday, Ashley Judd- Twisted, Demi Moore- GI Jane, Angela Bassett- Strange Days, and Rene Russo- Lethal Weapon 3. And since you had Lucy Lawless from tvs Xena- I would also include for tv Sarah Michell Gellar- Buffy, Kristen Loken- Painkiller Jane, and Peta Wilson- La Femme Nikita.
