My fan has 3 wires conected not 2 what do i do?

One of the cables just information cable, (usually blue) cut it off, use voltmeter to be sure

It will spin kinda of slow so cooling PC isnt best idea for this :) But as laptop extrafan etc it will do duty just fine

be sure to check all cables from usb (yellow, red, white,green) my red>white was 4.8V red>yellow was 4.94V and red>green was 5.15V different companies use different colors for ther cables it all depends if you got your cable from a good company or some hippy making them in his moms basement lol

if you have a red, black and yellow, just cut the yellow off.. doesn't do anything..

1) Use proper cutter tools

2) Use solder

3) Use shrinktubes for proper insulation and pro finishing

4) Doing this with just any fan could fry your computer because of the powerconsumption of the fan. (+ overloading your usb causes heat, something you want to remedy with the fan --> FAIL!!)

5) Not all fans will start at 5V (check web)

6) Cooling efficiency of this construction is hazy

Get a dedicated laptop cooler which can be had for around $40 or a usb power adapter to avoid risk ($10). My 2ct
