This is a Non Poisonous Black Rat Snake. Very large snake of this kind to see in the wild anymore. They are now a protected snake by State Laws. It was about 6 to 6&1/2ft long easy! Very dosile until messed with? haha! You can see when I grabbed his tail he spun around very quickly!
I have been around snakes and other animals all my life. Mostly Rattle Snakes from living in the desert areas in Las Vegas and Arizona.

So please dont encounter ANY wild snakes without knowing what your messing with first! Even some non poisonous snakes can still bite and hurt you, depending on what they are? But there is also always the chance, it also may be a poisonous one! Extreme care and caution should be taken when handling a wild snake of this size. They are much more aggressive being wild than a normal snake bought in the store. No animal like being captive!

Please dont kill snakes, they are a Keystone Species to our enviroment. You dont want to know what this world would be like without them! A rotting sespool of over run roadents, bugs, and deseases! Everything play a part on this planet, even the poisonous ones!

Hope you enjoyed seing a wild snake of this size out in the wild? Ill be doing more videos or picture videos as I find them, or see them from my New Backyard?

  • Always Great to See videos of animals that are left to their habitat an allowed to go on their merry way, most videos on here they are all caged up in a small enclosure.

    Nice Clip :)

  • Thanks! i dont believe in harming anything. Im in there home really? I think its cool having them around even the poisonous ones. Just have to respect there space. But your right, to many people cage them up. They do better for us all left where there at. They dont want to be around us anymore than than most people dont want them around? I see the water snakes take off every day when they see you. So few rare encounters with them close up as it is? But they still take off when not cornered in.

  • Holy smokes dude!

It's huge! (for me that is)

Indeed.. every creature, even the cockroaches and snakes, play a good role in our world..

    ..just dunno what

Take care dude! Say hi to the snakie for me.. XD

  • Hey Jammy! Glad to see ya! Yes its was a big one for a Rat Snake! haha! My wife was freaking out! She was saying it looked like a poisonous water snake from the lake a few ft down? lol! I told her it wasnt and went to go mess with it! haha! It got pissed! It turned on me and tried to bite me a few times. Hes been around awhile for sure! He was somewhere around 6 to 7 ft long. I didnt get to measure it but im sure it was close. Ill be looking out for more cool stuff here!

  • My dad used to own a house that bordered on a swamp in North Carolina. Snakes, particularly water moccasins would often be found in our yard. We lived on a dirt and gravel road in the country and there were no street lights, so we had to be careful when walking down that road at night-- in case we might encounter one of these snakes. One actually crawled into the house through a heating vent and ended up in my brother's bedroom! Scared the heck out of all of us lol. Well anyway, cool video!

  • Steve thats freaky living on a swamp itself. Theres alot of water moccasins here. There about 40ft down at the river out of our new backyard. Were living on Lake Fork now. Ive seen loads of them down there in the water, but none up the little hill yet? They have said there lots of Copperheads and Cottonmouths around here in berry patches. Ive been trying to find some? None yet? I dont want them coming in my house though! I have always likes messing with snakes and other strange animals though?

  • i like snakes

  • i appreciate when ppl leave wildlife alone but that's rare. usually i find they have to disturb in some way. some capture, some kill, some tease, some torture but few just admire and let it be. snakes have an important job to do and that involves keeping rodents in control. it's not easy work and luck and timing are involved. here in the sierras people have reduced the reptile and phibian populations to the point of absurdity. now we gotta set mouse and rat traps everyday.

  • wow ur brave O_o

  • snakes are badass!!! i think some of the things they can do are amazing. you don't get stuff like in england (unless one breaks out of a zoo),most of our wildlife is passive.

though there's all way this rumour of a panther or something down south. i'm rambling.

    peace.lol.=)

  • Cool stuff man that thing was huge.

  • living on lake fork? gonna catch some of those ten pound large mouth bass? lucky dog!
