Che naturalezza... il canto non è mai sforzato stupendo davvero

grande rispetto e ammirazione per un tenore che ha lasciato un segno indelebile nella storia del belcanto

I have jusr been watching The Art  of Singing.:Golden Voices of the Century.

My late husband had a vast 78 collction of such voices.

I see it is now out onDVd.Well worth every penny.

Thomas Hampson pays tribute to at leat three of the Baritones and there's a tiny clip of Tettrazzini, also conchita Supervia.

@palymusic Concordo. Anche io non amo particolarmente Schipa, ma mi inchino alla sua tecnica. Considerando poi che era asmatico!

Per chi sa ascoltare e valutare questa esecuzione è una lezione di canto eccezionale... pronuncia, accento, fraseggio appoggio, uso delle risonanze e degli armonici... giusta pressione diaframmatica...

Ovviamente, caro JomeAt10, ognuno pensa ciò che crede ed esprime le opinioni sulla base della propria esperienza e della propria competenza. per me Schipa, che non amo particolarmente, è un un maestro di belcanto per quello che ho spiegato prima.

I've been watching this video for at least a year and I think this is one of the best recordings ever made of this aria. This is the one I prefer. Though I wouldn't claim it was absolutely faultless. Schipa has a beautiful lyrical voice which lends itself particularly well here. He also demonstrates that it's possible to be a great Italian tenor without being a master of belcanto.
