@you317 My guess is nobody on the production could pronounce Stheno or Euryale.
-
@you317 Yeah, I tend to do that to mythologically inspired movies when I'm not really enjoying them much. I picked the Clash of the Titans movie to bits but just let it all slide with Disney's Hercules. It's all based around enjoyment for me. Honestly, no one really remembers the names of the Gorgons aside from Medusa. Heck, when I hear "Megaera", I thought of "Megara", the first wife of Hercules.

Where is Perseus when u need him?

@Capng123 Or perhaps they were misinformed?...

@Yerabasan And the voice, don't forget the voice! Plus, she's got great bone structure...

Paul reminds me of a Euro Tommy Kirk.

One could only hope to once meet in thier lives a woman like Barbara Shelly. Her gaze is one in which could pierce your very soul and transfix you as if a moth to a flame.
-
An interesting film. Barbara Shelley is rather special. See her in the 1960 'Village of the Damned' when she was particularly attractive!

Makes me want to go buy some gorgonzola cheese...:D
I also noticed that Tisiphone was given as the name of another Gorgon sister ... again, this is one of the Furies (Erinyes).
I know I am geeking out over this, but I don't know why the filmmakers decided to change the names.

Megaera is actually the name of one of the Erinyes. The Gorgons are generally named as Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale.
