Crysis Vs. Crysis Warhead Graphics - Max Settings HD 4870

Just a little comparison of the two games graphics, all max settings on a custom map called "Amazonian River." As you can see, there isn't much of a difference between the games' rendering engine, although Warhead supposedly has a newer version of CryEngine2. The only real noticeable difference is the missing ground textures in Warhead.

Both Games were recorded with Fraps@25FPS at 1400X1050

what video card do you think was used in this video ppl? and what card would you recommend to me because i want to buy on! i have ddr3 Ram, win 7 64 bit, and am currently running crysis on an integrated graphics motherboard!! i know that sucks and thats why i want to upgrade to a real video card so any help would be much appreciated thanks!!

I used an ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB, which is now considered a mid-range card, and sells for about $150 CAD. If I were you, I would invest in an HD 5870, DX11 support and about twice as powerful as the HD 4870.

@ATLMember Theoretically, the 5870 is more that twice as powerful when compared to the 4870. The 5870 retains the same basic architecture of the RV770 chips, but has doubled the number of unified shaders from 800 to 1600, and upping the transistor count from 900 million to 2.15 billion. The ROPs have also been doubled. At peak, the HD 4870 is stated as being capable of 1.2 TeraFLOPs (single precision), and the HD 5870 at 2.71 TeraFLOPs.

But this might not be the case in real world conditions.

it isnt really a fair comparison since the amazon map was made for the original. as you can see the textures are fucked up @ warhead
