An amateur (using his mac and garageband) recording of Luke singing "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton. Luke is 13yrs and did this as a dedication to the memory of his gorgeous baby cousin "Jack Peter" who was sadly born asleep in March. Totally devastating for our family.

Luke was fortunate to have some private tuition with Gareth Malone in 2008/2009 as part of BBC program "The Choir: Unsung Town". This introduced him to more traditional "treble" material, as prior to this he had only sung Musical Theatre. He continues to sing both styles of music and is looking forward to learning more genres as his voice changes.

Hope you like his version of the song and please feel free to *** SUBSCRIBE *** and comment.

Lyrics:-

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven
I'll find my way, through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven

Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knee
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please

(instrumental)

Beyond the door
There's peace I'm sure.
And I know there'll be no more...
Tears in heaven

Luke needs lots of persuasion to record any songs / video clips but does plan to record more songs now in order to document the transition of his voice from it's current treble range to it's eventual "mature" sound.

Hope you like his version of the song and please feel free to subscribe and comment.

His last clip was Bright Eyes by Mike Batt - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S9AonUUrNo

  • WOOOW Very Good !!!

  • @deniskap1 - Thank you. Seems a long time ago now. Sung it for my baby cousin that had just died, but now we are "days" away from the birth of what will be my baby cousin Megan. We are all praying it goes well after my aunt/uncle tragic loss last time - so only happy songs in the house at the moment ;-)

  • Can you sing this without the electronics? I am looking for a young soprano singing this without electronic enhancement. Your other videos suggest you could do this.

  • @theforestbird - Hi forestbird. Yes I can. I only used garageband to add some reverb (echo effect). I'm not in the same league as some of your other videos though - like Jackie Evancho, she's incredible ;-)

  • we have Garageband on the mac ... are there any tutorials out there?

Very nice voice ... but you look so scared! Great job though!!

  • @BritgirlTX - Hi, thanks for your comment. I probably look "thoughtful" as it was sung in memory of my baby cousin that had died. I'm not keen on singing for the camera - much better just performing live with friends or something. Thanks for your comments though ;-)

  • Oh my gosh he has grown so much. And just listen to him, such depth, clarity and richness to his brilliance notes and his sustains are beautiful enough to make you cry. WOW Such gentle control. And a lovely tribute to your most tragic loss. Thank you for sharing this with me.

    Wow.

  • not to be a bitch but the voice is to high of a pitch for this piticular song but bro u got one fucking awesome voice (Y)

  • What a lovely voice, very beautiful

  • You have/had a lovely treble voice. Be proud of it!

I realise this was uploaded some time ago, Has your voice broken yet? (Often boys' voice are at their most lovely just before they break) Your voice wont settle down into it's adult register for sometime after you loose your treble voice which can be frustrating. Are you still singing? I hope so. :-)

  • ballz are missing

  • Oh soo sweet Luke. What a lovely voice. Good Luck with your singing in the future. Love "The Shoes" Charley and Lucy - 2 Shoes X Factor. xx

  • so good !!!

  • great:)

  • its really nice, but shouldnt your voice be in a different octave (if u know what i mean)??

  • Woah, i wasn't expecting such a high soprano voice. It's pretty but it caught me off guard.

  • @kingpin1904 he's a kid and he's a soprano, plus there's nothing wrong with being gay.
