Re-recording of Teresa's 1954 hit. Introduced by Joan Weber on a tv program entited "Studio One", this song quickly caught on and spawned several different versions which all competed on the charts at the same time as Joan's original. Joan's charted at #1 in the US, and #16 in the UK. Other versions along with their chart positions on the Billboard and UK Singles charts follow: Sunny Gale (#17 US), Dean Martin (#3 UK), Ruby Murray (#5 UK), Patti Page (#8 US), and Hank Snow (#1 US Country chart) June Carter, Peggy Lee, Jimmy Wakely and Eileen Scott also released versions in 1954/1955. Some of these artists on pictured on the UK sheet music cover in the photo. It seems likely that this song is a contender for the most competing versions released at the same time. I have also posted Teresa's original recording, which charted at #6. Written by Jenny Lou Carson with special lyrics by Al Hill.

  • Thank you so much. My grandchildren don't understand. I played Cool Breeze by Little River band also. Their lost to me.Thanks again. Dad called her Tesse, Amen!

  • @tvgrice67 Kids aren't brought up correctly today. Their parents need to infuse them with good musical taste or they likely won't appreciate it when they hear it. It's tough in today's regressive society.

  • Have always loved this classic - Joan Weber's version is terrific too ! Wish to thank you for uploading it.

  • Just imagine some six year olds on their way to Catholic School in Charleston singing this full-throated in the back bench seat of an old yellow school bus. Imagine the painful experience for the bus driver hearing out squeaky voices! We must have heard it coming thru the open screens of all the houses in our neighborhood! Every woman and housekeeper must have sung along to it and we would hear our mother's singing along. We perked up, just like all birds in a nest, and learned the song.

  • My dad use to play that music that I fall in love with by by 18 years of age, now 65, I still listen and love it so much...thanks for uploading it (Quebec City, Canada).
