NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams - Sky Concert

The turning point in Helen's personality comes from the Sky Concert, an amphitheater in Memory Forest. It's Helen's chance to show her musical inclination (in the opening cutscene for Helen, she ditches her mom's violin practice to go hang out with friends), and she gladly accepts. In playing something for other people, she learns to be a bit less selfish. Then again, a lot of people perform to make themselves feel prideful, so I'm not sure how this plays out in Helen's psyche.

In this mission, you're supposed to play "Dreams Dreams" on a staff floating up in the air around a giant tree. Notes show up as you go, and you play the notes by flying through them. You fail the mission if you miss five notes.

You can play the music out of tempo if you wish, though you won't get a very high score. Rather, you need to keep up with the glowing beam of yellow light so that the melody you play can be consistent with the background. You can tell you're getting to be a bit fast or slow when the Nightopians stop singing along. I didn't do this perfectly, but I made numerous attempts and picked out the best one. This one is particularly important to show how to do correctly, as the discord may be a little grating otherwise.

And this wraps up the missions in NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. But I'm not done uploading stuff from this video game though, as there are a few extras that are also worth a video. Or three.

This level really amazed me, mainly for the music but detail is amazing too. The notes and rhythm are actually what you would play for the music. I played along!
