@TGAcousticLessons You could write it in 15/8. The whole phrase would be 2 measures of 15/8.

@TGAcousticLessons Yeah, I know that the first note, the E, is a pickup. And I was wrong, it's actually three measures of 7/8 followed by one measure of 9/8. And I got my information from the official sheet music printed by Virgin Music Publishers in 1973. It was arranged by David Bedford.

put tabs in descri :D
The intro to Tubular Bells is in 7/8 and 9/8. Two measures of 7/8 followed by one measure of 9/8 to be exact. Or you could say 1 measure of 7/8 followed by a measure of 15/8 if you want it to sound more complex than it is. And Songs of Distant Earth recent? lol it came out almost 20 years ago.

@GusFogle Not sure where you got the Time Sig info but the intro is definitely alternating measures of 7/8 and 8/8 (or 4/4 if you prefer), also meaning it could be counted as 15/8. Your mistake may be coming from not realizing that the first note is a pick-up, and the first down beat falls on the second note. And yes, SofDE was from 1994, about 15 years before I made the short vid. It just seemed like his most recent notable album at the time. Neil
