NOTE: You have four minutes to stop watching this montage if you would like to avoid any graphic content. The focus of this program is not the gore in Argento's films, but there is some strong content that sensitive or young viewers should avoid. This was created as part of a presentation designed to submit to potential investors in what was slated to be director Dario Argento's latest film (which became "Mother of Tears"). I was solicited by a producer working on behalf of Argento and supplied the best possible transfers of his films and a host of soundtracks. I was asked to create a DVD that would contain excerpts from a range of Dario's films, but was also asked to create a montage that could be sort of an overall presentation that would give someone who is unfamiliar with Argento's work an idea of what his films were like. For this I had free reign to do whatever I wanted, and this was the result. The producer told me that Claudio Argento had seen it and liked it. I also want to note that I was given expressed permission from Dario Argento to use the materials and create this program, for which I received no money, but was glad to do it in the hope it would help him raise money. I also wanted a chance to be able to create something with Dario's footage, as one of the great drawbacks of being an editor sometimes is you are limited by the footage you have to work with. Being a fan of Dario's cinematic style, I was glad to have a chance to find new ways to present his work and to be able to use it as part of my own edit reel. This was originally uploaded on my digitalshark YT channel before I decided to delete it and had gained close to one million views by that point.
Love his work didn`t like the last chapter in the Three Mother series Mother Of Tears look like he lost his edge on that one! hope that some of todays horror makers learn from the masters of the past Argento Fulci and Romero

Amazing piece. Sadly i have not seen all those movies yet. I do wish Dario would return to this kind of visuals and atmosphere in his movies. I thought it was greatly missing from Mother of Tears.

@DerEchteMrHood the movie you are asking about is called 'Deep Red'.It came out in '75 and if I am not mistaken it was also titled 'The Hatchet Murders'.
