♥ demolition lovers. // [happy b-day to me]

It's my birthday, so I made myself a video with my favorite band, pairing, and color scheme. :)

For those of you familiar with My Chemical Romance's work, this video follows the basic storyline of the "original" demolition lovers.

Kovu and Kiara are a pair of outlaws in love (a Bonnie and Clyde-type thing). They've had many ups and downs throughout their relationship, fighting and breaking up and getting back together countless times. But at the end of it all, they realize that that they truly love each other and are meant to be together forever.
Kovu suggests that they run away together, and Kiara accepts. However, thir happiness is cut short when they are surrounded by Zira and her pride. Kiara looks to Kovu, and the two of them decide that they're not gonna go down without a fight. Kovu whispers his goodbyes to Kiara, and they launch themselves into battle. They die fighting side-by-side.

Red represents two things: Kovu & Kiara's love for each other, and the blood they ultimately shed for each other. I, of course, have my own opinions, but it's up to the viewer to decide what it means at each point in time.
The background static in the middle sequence (when they're breaking up) is symbolic of the discord in their relationship.

I've wanted to make a video with a black/white/red color scheme forever, and here it is! Threshold + gamma adjustor are my new best friends. :D

I tried every technique known to man to turn Kiara's eyes blue at 0:25, but nothing worked -- and I didn't feel like going frame-by-frame and coloring them in by hand. x.x But blue would have thrown off the color scheme, so it all worked out in the end.

The sequence at 0:43 - 1:04 was an old MEP part of mine that didn't get accepted (and for good reason, it was pretty shoddy :P). I really liked it, though, so I cleaned it up and it has now found its proper home right here. :3

The perfectionist in me is disappointed with the blotchiness of the later clips... but hey, it's WMM, so hopefully I can be forgiven. ^_^;

...and of course, Youtube effed up the timing right at the end. Whatever, Youtube, we're not friends anymore. :(

As usual, everything was made with WMM.

and woooow. I have no words for how much I love this video. the effects, clip choice, everything. it's all so perfect.

Plus this brings back such nostalgic memories, I used to be OBSESSED with MCR. Wow. <3
