http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/power-paths/ It's time to cut our dependence on fossil fuel and pursue renewable energy. But how can it be done? Native American tribes turn to solar and wind sources to provide clean sustainable energy for cities across the West. Their traditional values toward conservation and the earth offer real solutions to America's energy crisis.
POWER PATHS premieres Tuesday, November 3 on Independent Lens, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Maggie Gyllenhaal, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, Independent Lens is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide.

I'm one of those pissed off Americans that knows where all the money goes...
most of it goes to a worthless federal tax... most ass backwards mickey mouse scam of all time... I absolutely HATE the federal reserve... all it ever has done of this country is caused massive debt, depressions, & lined the pockets of Rockefeller's corpse...
we need to start printing our own money & stop loaning it from them & paying that tax they tack on to everyone dollar... it makes no sense to keep it...

I think that the Amercan sheeple wouldn't do squat if they knew what was really going on behind their backs. Amercans (by & large) are fat stupid & lazy. They can't be bothered with taking an interest in such mundane matters as health care, a clean safe environment, a living wage, etc. All they care about is cheap gas, all-U-can-eat buffets, churchtainment, reality shows, football & perpetual wars so they can "fight 'em over there so they don't have to fight 'em over here". Dumbasses!

Yup and hear hear! I say this same thing all the time. The problem is that the supposed leaders of America have been systematically bought off by corporations and special interests. The leaders are now the slaves. They do the bidding of those with the money. You know what the New Golden Rule is, don't you? "He who has the gold, makes the rules." Politicians today (by and large with only a few exceptions, e.g. Dennis Kucinich) get into politics for personal gain, not good governing.

Granted, it costs more. But so what? Everything in life shouldn't be decided upon "the bottom line". That's the problem with America. A capitalist system does everything in the name of profit - not for doing something for the greater good. For example, look at the mining industry how the fouled the rivers & streams & the local groundwater with heavy metals from runoff of their tailings. It's cheaper for them to just dump their spoils than properly discard them. The don't care one bit.

Powerlines and telephone poles carrying powerlines sure are a blight on the landscape. Why in the hell didn't the powers that be not think this through adequately and bury powerlines in the ground in special conduits as water and sewer lines? Man, how I hate humanity and how things are the way they are and never seem to get any better. To me, progress always seems to take one step forward and two steps back.
