Peter & Gordon were a British Invasion-era performing duo, formed by Peter Asher and Gordon Waller, that rocketed to fame in 1964 with "A World Without Love". Peter Asher's sister (the actress Jane Asher) was dating Paul McCartney (of The Beatles), and so Peter & Gordon recorded several songs written by McCartney, with or without John Lennon. "I Go To Pieces" was written by Del Shannon and given to the duo after the two acts toured together

  • The 60s was not all that great. It was the start of moral decay because people "ran around with a lollipop in one hand and a balloon in another,"as my mom used to say. Idealistic thinking is fantasy thinking and denies that life is often hard but it still must be faced, not escaped. That just delays the pain.

  • @rrmjvand

really? what about the holocaust? It happened in the 40's...

  • Were the 1960s a missed chance?

In terms of popular music: This moment was the very highest point in human history. No matter what happened after that, nothing could ever equal the sublimity of it. It was the very moment when Heaven touched the earth...

  • Is true but 60's was the sweet music generation ...

  • Grew up in the '50s and '60s and the kids didn't worry about atomic war on a daily basis but instead we lived life and had fun. Yeah, we did the drills in school (Duck and cover) but we laughed at it all even as we did it.

  • A great 60's song, they don't dress like that anymore.

  • @margolou2010 It is done today! Look at all the demonstrations and revolutions going on in the Middle East. They're going through the phase we went through in the 60's
