  • Lousy Audio, but WAY cool to see Bruce Johnstone footage

  • Yeah, I was almost embarrassed to post this -- the video quality (which wasn't all that good to begin with) has really deteriorated and the sound is terribly distorted (my bad). But it's still pure gold (particularly now).

The energy that very cold night was electric (everyone quickly forgot how freezing cold it was). I hope a little bit of that magic comes through, despite all the technical limitations.

  • Great

  • massive power and energy in this performance.

  • @selector111 Maybe I should have said that Lynn wound up in Vegas. He's still there and hasn't gigged in nearly 19 years. After checking with him, he wasn't in New York when the band played Carnegie Hall in '75. He was in the band the previous year when it played there. He quit Maynard before the spring tour of '75.

  • @shuckandjive Lynn played in thad jones' and mel lewis' band after this and then went to vegas until the 90's, on the at the top video there are extras and one of the extras was some recordings of a carnegie hall concert from 1975 and a guy on the dvd said that he met lynn there, i also read on a website that he left the band around christmas.

  • @selector111 The band from the dvd "Live - At The Top" was replaced by this one. There were 7 changes including Lynn. Lynn went to Vegas. I heard he had some chop problems, quit playing for awhile but came back stronger than ever. Randy came back to the band in the fall and Allan at some point joined Jean-Luc Ponty.

  • @shuckandjive No Lynn Nicholson? I thought he left the band at christmas in 75

  • No Randy Purcell, allan zavod or Lynn nicholson?

  • GREAT

  • This was recorded in the spring of 1975. The band members on this tour were: Trumpets: Bob Summers, Joe Mosello, Dennis Noday, Ernie Garcide and Stan Mark. Bones: Keith O'Quinn and Larry McCabe. Saxophones: Andy MacIntosh, Mike Pedicin and Bruce Johnston. Drums: Mike Shepard. Piano: Pete Jackson. Bass: Rick Petrone.
