I teach in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. There has been a move away from advanced choreography, imposing basic patterns, and stressing more on staying with the 128 BPM (I will go to 130 - 132) by the club I work at. But I know this would be welcomed by one class I teach - they are step freaks like I am! Look forward to seeing more!

I don't like basic movements and, because the other classes I teach are more 'push em hard', I needed something that requires brain power for my own development. So, I started choreographing my own classes. I believe that coordination and reaction time, things that you will develop with choreography are important parts of overall fitness. The people in my class would all leave again if I went back to basics.
Do you have any videos up? I'll have another video up shortly.

I liked it. I wish there were classes that offered the freestyle, but they seem to get simpler and simpler :(. Thanks for sharing!

That's why I started doing this. I like to make up my own routines. Where do you teach? I'm in Dublin, Ireland, by the way.

You know, when I changed my step class to this style, they were a little bit shocked. But, they've adapted and changed and now they love it. You've only seen the finished work here, but, when the steps are broken down, it's relatively straightforward to pick it up. Start with something small and, over a few weeks, introduce them to other individual little moves. After a few weeks of teaching individual moves (within your regular class of course) you can string them together into a class. J
