ok. i reckon that jason was always gonna choose molly, but the producers asked him and molly to set this up and so then choose melissa and then break up with her after a while for ratings. just a theory..

@rubyflipper I'd be angry and livid if someone took me on national television and dumped me also. That is normal emotion, not "mercurial behavior." Accusing her of having a history of nastiness is a bit much, judging from ONE televised reaction to a public dumping. How exactly SHOULD she have reacted? Stop acting like you know either her, Molly, OR Jason. For all you know the right woman for Jason is still out there. None of us know but them.

This is just speculation but I think Jason got a huge payoff from ABC to pick Melissa and them dump her on the ATFR. Thats why it broke his heart to send Molly away. He chose money over love and it killed him. In the end he got to have both...

All you have to do is watch his reaction at 5:25 to know that he obviously was in love with Molly, he was just conflicted at the time.

I think anyone could see that when he sent Molly away, he knew deep down he was doing the wrong think. You could see it on the look of his face.
I'm not sure why so many are taking it like as if he left Melissa after being married and having a child or something. If a person knows it is not right, they certainly should break things off BEFORE the marriage begins. It would have been so much worse had he married Melissa anyway, knowing he didn't want to, and then finally divorce her!

The way he was crying at the end just proves how much he loves her, he should have known then that he made a mistake.
