Hey guys, just wanted to let you in on a little bit of what I'm working on right now, sorry if the quality is bad, I have to use Windows movie maker to encode it so YouTube will accept it. :/

Story: 2 hero's merge into an unstoppable force from the Xel"naga - The Twilight Archon to fend off the Lava Swarm, one of the most dangerous swarms on the planet Xi'l, With the help of the Grand Executor Hierarchy, will our hero be able to fend off the Lava Swarm? Subscribe and find out!

This video shows off the intro for when you confront the boss.

I still have ways to go yet, you can expect up in at most 2 days.

  • Very cool.. can you tell me how did you make the hidralisk so huge? cuz i can make only doodads bigger :( (and where can i change the weapons of the units) i'll be very greatfull :) great mision looks profesional

  • @LasTCursE69 Search for the hydralisk actor, and search "Scale" and modify the 2 scales to your desire.

  • @squirlkingSUCKS for doodads i click Numpad + and it makes it bigger.. but when i try that with a unit nothing happends.. :/

  • @LasTCursE69 You have to go into the data editor, it kind of advanced, you need to search for the hydralisk and edit its values to make it bigger.

  • Need help please!

im trying to edit some campaign missions in my sc2 but i have 2 problems

-when i load the maps it asks me to upgrade out of starter edition(i have full edition)

-i dont know how to make certain structures spawn units

please help and i will be grateful!

  • Wc3 World Editor makes maps quicker and easier

Sc2 Galaxy Editor has more room for potential and better graphics. I don't care about graphics in a RTS personally.

Personally I prefer Wc3's editor since making units isn't such a pain in the ass and quality maps are quicker to make. I usually don't have time to make a quality map so I only edit casually. I am able to make a quality wc3 map in a month, or two depending on the type of map it is.

  • ill call it the yanmatolisk

  • thats vs kerri

I agree, after spending more time with it I seem to have underestimated it. I have a question you may be able to help me with. I'm remaking the map 'Random Unit Wars'. Basically I want a random unit to appear. I was really good with 'switches' from the SC1 editor but it appears as though they are gone. I'm trying to generate every unit randomly with each having the same probability of occurring. At the moment it is currently in a giant nested IF/THEN/ELSE statement mess!

    Help :(

  • @SuperAdviceMan GalaxyEditor is actually fairly easy to use. I've played SCI for a long time, but never tried to make a map. And I never bothered with the WarCraft series (though now I regret it). And so far, I've been able to do very many things ^^

  • @jvillinger WC3 editor is a child play compared to Galaxy editor.

No jokes, i was a mod of it and now, on sc2, I'm lost.

That's my 4th day on it and i'm still trying to understand how actors, item, items containers, units, models, buttons, abilities, items class, requirements and whatesoever works alltogheter to make a marine hero.

Kind of crazy. A virtual maze of technology to grab.

  • shit looks cool

  • @SuperAdviceMan

I would recommend hiring a copy of WC3 and playing with the world edit. The map editors allow you to be extremely creative (even more than something like LittleBigPlanet) but there is an inherent learning difficulty curve. If you have the fundamental understandings of programming (ie: for loops and if, then, else statements) then that would help too.
