Simulation of a Zero Voltage Switching circuit, simulation made with "Circuit Simulator Applet" from www.falstad.com/circuit/
How it works: Each MOSFET is turned on at the peak of the respective sinewave (when the voltage across source and drain is zero) through the two normal diodes (which must be hish speed diodes in a real life circuit). The two 12v Zener Diodes prevent the gate driving voltage from going above 12 volts. The Inductor (top) assures a constant current is flowing into the center tap of the transformer. If the inductance of this inductor is too low, the Tank Capacitor and MOSFETs will get extra stress and or the circuit will not oscillate properly. Notice the two 470 ohm resistors get alot of current and should be 2+ watt resistors in a real life circuit. Also note that the MOSFETs and the Tank Capacitor are receiving PI x the input voltage (about 3.14 x input), so real life circuits should account for this with the appropriate voltage rated parts.
