Dealership training from Ford about the in car replacement of the timing chains.

Content of video will probably apply to the Mustang as well.

NOTE: There was a mistake made during production (paper inside case) about the timing chain guide in the later part of the video! Use common sense during replacement and finding out why wear occured.

  • What if I install the timing chain but I dont put it the chain with the marks on the sprocket. would that be any problem??

  • @damaster86 You have to make sure the engine is in-time. The best way is to align the marks.

  • @ihartmacz Hey, think you can help me real quick? I'm trying to replace some valves and the manual tells me to get TDC to remove the timing chain and lock the camshafts with a tool. But then it says to rotate the engine(after the timing chains are off) 45 degrees ccw so that the pistons are all below the heads after the chain is off and the camshafts are locked lol its a little confusing. Its basically saying get TDC and dont move it but then move it 45 degrees ccw lol

  • @YourePrettyGoood Not sure what you're getting at. They want you to lock the camshaft with the tool, then take the chain and tensioner off, then you can rotate the crank how ever you want.

  • No not my speakers... It just messes up the sound if I try to play it on 3G...when I'm connected to wifi it works fine. Weird!

  • @WickeDxRebeLx Its your speakers dude.

  • Is it just my Luck or is the sound no longer working on this video? It sounds like Mario brothers sounds or something on my end... Anybody else

  • No wonder the mechanics charge so much for this. -____-

  • what was the point on removing and depressurerise the fuel lines? it has nothing to do with removing the timing chain unless you need to remove the intake manifold. and remove the windshield wiper? that´s why i don´t own a Ford I will stick to my vw gti

  • @tow4less1 wat r u talkin bout? Its tha same motor.

  • @ajuk1 ... Why is that, please? Is it because they're telling you to remove things that may not be necessary on every vehicle, like the wipers and left and right upper cowl?
