Buddy is a American Black & Tan Coonhound/Plott Hound Mix. Jolie is a American Black & Tan Coonhound/Doberman Mix. We recently adopted Buddy through the American Black & Tan Coonhound Rescue. He was living with a foster family in Tennessee. He was transported to New Jersey via P.E.T.S. (Peterson Express Transport Service). They had a really rough trip up; with two rigs and about 100 rescue dogs. They left for their journey on Friday 12/18/2009 and were due in Pluckemin, NJ Saturday 12/19/2009 at 6a.m. Unfortunately that was the weekend of a record breaking blizzard that hit much of the eastern United States. They became stranded in Roanoke, Virginia at a hotel; as roads were impassable and within 24 hours the area had received 24" inches of snow. As the snow stopped falling there and roads began to be cleared they started the journey once more, only to become stranded again as they drove back into the storm as it made it's way north. They eventually had to re-route themselves to the west to make the rest of the trip. Finally Sunday night, 12/20/2009 we picked up Buddy at the drop off point. Hats off to the guys at P.E.T.S. They had to walk, feed and supply water; and clean up after some 100 or so dogs.I know that they had a really, really rough trip; but the animals all made the trip alright thanks to them. (The trailer is heated). So; when we finally got Buddy home, he got to see a yard covered by 2 feet of snow, with just a few trails shoveled so that the dogs could do their business and we could get out as well. He must have thought, "What the heck is all this?" - being from a warmer part of the country. Eventually, about a week later we had a rainstorm come through and wash away most of the snow; he was very excited to finally see the ground. This footage was taken during Buddy's first week with us.

  • Buddy was my aunt's dog :D:D:D

  • @TheKnuddelsAddict Buddy is a great dog. He fits right in here.

  • GREAT video! We've got a Coonhound-Doberman cross and the Coon is clearly strong in her. I played this video and she heard it and went nuts. :)

  • @juanpilliperaghead They are great dogs. Best of luck with yours.

  • My coonhound died last year. She was 13 years old.

This video reminds me of her.

    Thanks for the tears.

  • @crutmauler Sorry to hear that; they are sweet dogs.

  • What a lucky pup to have Jolie for a sister & you all as parents. Looks like they will entertain themselves with plenty of exercise. Congrats on your new family member! Hope Mama cat learns to love him. Great video as always. Thanks for adopting another rescue. You all are wonderful to look for those with little hope. I hope they live long & well...& look forward to more great videos.
