@Cthulhu1970 I know what you mean, but programmers did manage to make the beeper a lot more tuneful and easy on the ears. Of course we got the AY chip in the Spectrum 128 and onwards, but some great music was produced on the single channel beeper.

I was the only boy at school who could not finish this game. It made me really ashamed. I got to the last screen by using the cheat codes. Please someone send Mr Benway the cheat codes.

This is the last of my comments - I feel that I have pestered you enough today. Anyway after 20 years, and no completed speccy games to date, this is the one that I have almost completed! - The Warehouse level is an ABSOLUTE bugger.
I also met Matthew Smith at Videogame Nation around the time that this was posted. You can find the videos here on youtube by searching
"Matthew Smith Urbis" - without the quotes.
Bloody hell Mr Benway you are indeed totally shite at Manic Miner! :-)

Isn't that Jet Set Willy?

No, Jet Set Willy is the sequel to this.

I think you can turn the music off - in Jet Set Willy you definately can. Probably can in this, too.

Yes, I seem to recall an option to turn it off. As it is, using the Amstrad made Spectrum I was playing on here, I could have just turned down the TV.
But then the terrible music was part of the whole appeal of this game (in my humble opinion), or at least, it's fun to torment viewers with the memory of it ;-)
