Ruth Terry sings "You Can't Cry On My Shoulder". Then Dagwood (Arthur Lake) beats out a conga, "Brazilian Cotillion", while Blondie (Penny Singleton) and Manuel Rodríguez (Tito Guízar) sing and dance! This is one of a handful of awesome conga sequences in movies in the early '40s and one of my personal favorites! I love Blondie's dress and ruffles as she conga's towards the camera!! A great example of the cartoon-like quality that transfered well from strip to movie--Blondie's wardrobe!

  • @143AC She was also a longtime President of the Union for nightclub performers.

  • @143AC Both the Blondie films and the 3 Stooges shorts were made at Columbia and as a cost saving measure, music from one movie would often be reused in another studio production. Another instance: the song Anywhere, which was performed in the 1945 Rita Hayworth Columbia film Tonight and Every Night, was reused as dance music for Hayworth and Glenn Ford the following year in Gilda, also a Columbia production.
