I don't know about the pinto, but we own a 1930 model a and it's the most reliable car we have. Starts every time and goes anywhere, plus it gets pretty good mileage, about 24-25 mpg. We also have a 1993 honda and '04 Jeep and those are both developing their share of problems while the old ford keeps going, and we don't have to worry about the gas tank exploding since it's mounted right in front of the dash board.

How nice, they decided to make a car that may blow up but still have that sense of family. FORD i love you!

The first car that I bought with my own money was a brown '73 Squire Wagon, 4 speed with the German 2.0L in 1987 for $100. Most of the woodgrain had peeled off of the passenger side...LOL. It ran for about a year till the cam lobes wore down.

My parents bought a brand new Pinto wagon in 1973. Green with green interior, no power steering, 4sp. It lasted until 1988. It survived winters in MN, CO, ME, IL, and WI, along with the Aussie outback. Toughest car I've ever been around. Only failed to start once, and it was about -25 that morning. Great car, and I miss it. I learned how to drive with that car back in the mid 80s.

I'll bet that there's more Model A's on the road today than Pintos

Rumor has it that Islamic terrorists in the middle east use the ford pinto for car bombs when they are carrying out suicide missions...

Ah the LTD. My family had one in the 70s, it was like driving your living room.
Any little car would explode after being rear ended by an Olds 98.

A car that would run and run and run, and hardly ever see a repair shop, and feel good on the road....
