I discovered that the PH of the black soap is 10. And 8 for my most dilute concoction. This is too Alkaline for hair, I also suspect this is reason why it breaks some people out. I am not an expert, just a curious person experimenting.

  • try aloe vera juice.... hth

  • the skin pH is similar to the hair about 4-5. After I was my face with the blak soap I usually us a pH balanced toner right afterwards. My toner is a homemade concoction of green tea and apple cider vinegar. For more info on how to make this toner go to MoptopMaven channel and search for her video on skincare.

  • Where do you purchase your oils from?

  • I got sum black soap my homegurl left me and I use the all in one soap! All one! One love! lol ;)

  • Haven't done it myself yet, but I heard someone say to use mostly Aloe vera juice to melt/liquify the black soap instead of plain distilled water.

  • @godschildyes I agree. No need to stop using it you just have to make sure that you put something that is ph balanced back on your hair after using the shampoo. Kimmaytubes leave-in is great for this. Or as others have suggested you can add either aloe vera juice or aloe vera gel to the shampoo. Just make sure to add a preservative because the juice/gel will mold if you don't.

  • after doing some research i found that the ideal ph for body and face creams and other products is 5.5 this is considered safest ph.I would advice you to look for 5.5 ph product....this is extremely helpful for me since i had to stop using black soap because it was burning my face which i now know means the ph was too high. thanks for the vid

  • The black soap I have has lime and aloe vera which are acidic so hopefully that balances out :s
