I was on a Roam Team - we launched and recovered B52Hs - Cool to see what was going on in between when they were "ours" on the pad. Not sure with the Crosswind Crab segment - maybe had some sort of indicator light to clear? Possibly making sure of position for when beginning the landing cycle? It is way cool, though, to see a B52 "crabbing" - really weird.
Some of the sequence of the film is hilarious. What in the world would anyone be setting the crosswind crab in the middle of a flight? Hand flying at high altitude?? Not likely. Some video is really quite good.
