Here we learn that Rick Warren doesn't believe that sermons will produce spiritual maturity, Bill Hybels of Willow Creek is one of the greatest pastors in History, that Ecclesiastes was actually talking about church growth in certain sections, and prayer and preaching doesn't grow a church. Sheesh.

Keep it up, all of you on the attack against 1 pastor, than another and another until they are all bad. We need people like you. There were far more people like you in Christianitys start who actually went on a 300 year killing spree of Christians. It WAS AGAINST THE LAW. The great Roman Empire crumbled, while a Jesus Christ did more than just survive. So, history has shown, the more people like you who throw stones at and sit in judgement of non perfect people, the more Christianity will

And jrKook80 making generalizations about all Christian Churches that they don't preach the bible??? My church preaches from the bible all weak. How does he know what mu church does! What planet did he come from? He obviously hasn't gone into many churches. IGNORANT! UNINFORMED!!

Oh I see , and I hear what you say. You twist the first thing I hear you say about what Rick Warren Says. So I don't listen anymore to you a hypocrite. No, you don't have a spin. LOL Well since Christianity started, people who thought like you, have gone slightly farther that you have gone YET. And that is to try to wipe Christians off the face of the Earth. You would have done the same to the Jews, and they grow in numbers and power in sought of Holocausts. And yet, empires like the Rom

why don't we just support it.. anyway its for the common good! rick warren or other men preaching about the word of God may use other words or different concepts, but let us not see the defects or comparison but the aim or the purpose which goes to a direction for the common good! :) Let's respect then..digest it if it's good and ignore if it can harm. We are given wisdom to acquire understanding and the truth.. so please use it! :)

@schlummieleinchen why worry? it is God's work in us...you have no foundation about God's grace... your faith is founded only by ignorance. I challenge you to write a book what Rick warren does, a best seller book, okey? if you can't, mind you, you are just only an empty can, if you throw them away, you hear only a loud noise. It is because no wisdom at all! just like you!

@nan, for you commentator! what can you contribute to the needs of people like rick warren does? if none, better keep quiet!

@malikzzzzz YOU need to worry about YOUR Bible knowledge (or lack thereof). Don't assume that people have "never opened one", just because their views aren't EXACTLY like yours. You are knocking fellow-Christians for not being "your special kind" of TRUE Christian. That's rather obnoxious, not to mention self-absorbed of you!
Your "faith" has turned you into a regular stinker; or were you born that way? I bet people prefer seeing you leave to greeting you. Are you getting along with others?

I'm rather blown away by the level of arrogance, lack of humility, and blatant assumptions made by the commentary. When it came to the five things which Jesus did that the church ought to do too, the commentary took liberty to redefine the five things to support the commentary's position. When Warren says Christ promoted reconciliation, he certainly did not define it as simply between people, but the commentary had no problem assuming this to be the only meaning making Warren look uninformed.

What is consistent among this mainstream preachers is that the focus is taken off of god and put on the individual, themselves, their own selfish intentions. That is the difference, when the focus is taken off of god, and god alone, that is when people are lead astray. America has developed a capitalist, consumerist, fast food attitude when it comes to faith and God. They want what works for them, and can care less about God's plan for their lives. What a crying shame.

You can easily hear, "church growth" is Rick Warren's "little god." That is what he worships. And it is idolatry. His rhetoric is spreading like the worst virus.
