Gerald Ford Departure on Presidential 747

Air Force One, on loan from President Bush, begins to depart Palm Springs International Airport for a Special Air Mission transporting Gerald Ford to Washington, D.C.

The plane is only air force one when the sitting president is on board, otherwise it is sam 2800 or 2900 special air mission and the planes tail number there are 2 of these 747's that have been inservice since 1990 when Bush 41 was president, the planes were ordered by President Reagan and the only time he flew on them was for his funeral, kinda sad.

If you move within a certain radius, suspicions will arise, even if it's a normal commercial aircraft or personal plane, and security guards will keep an eye on you, and *maybe* choose to detain you. If you start climbing the fence, then you are definetely in trouble. Public interest wasn't what I was talking about.. I was talking about someone who had bad intentions.

If you spot planes at JFK, you can get arrested, so they do something. It's like that at LAX too, some days the cops come and shoo you away from the In N' Out.

I thought you were saying that airport security is crappy, in terms of it's secureness... not in terms of how it's applied. I agree, it makes no sense how passengers get screened and said-person doesn't.

And no, seeing as how it is a public airport, moving toward the fence means nothing...climbing the fence would get you shot...but public interest is not something to be killed over.

so say what you want about what they CAN do (they wouldn't and cant do a fucking thing if your just standing there), and if you don't know that...then your a fucking idiot...but the potential of being so close, and having the opportunity to do something illegal is extremely high.

I'm not talking about external airport security..im talking about how literally anyone (given that they had the money) could buy ANY aircraft in the world, any size..and depart a small airport without one security personnel within a 5 mile radious...but if you board an airliner as a passenger, your subjected to any and all types of security screenings...

See the fence? If anyone moves towards it, I'm betting a bunch of security guards will come out, grab you, detain you, and then speak to you. This isn't even Air Force One, it's transporting an ex-President. Anyone approaching Air Force One is supposed to be shot, or stunned in the least.

I was actually in the terminal that day delayed by my Delta flight due to this and watched the ceremony. As Ford is the favorite president of my lifetime, I was glad I could say "Goodbye sir. Thank you," as AF1 (2800) passed by.
