Yep. Or if you have an FX pedal you can take one cord from your guitar to pedal then another from the pedal directly into the computer, but that relies on your pedal for all of the tone.
Alternatively with a pedal (and 3 chords instead of 2) you could go:
Guitar -> Pedal -> Amp -> Computer

alright before i go out and buy it it, if i were to take the cable plug it into my guitar then into the input on my amp then from then i take a wire plug it into the headphone spot then to a mic spot on my computer i could record songs right on the computer right?

Radio shack, about $5 is where I got the big to small one. You can probably get the other one there too. I can't remember which measurements are which to be honest.

Alright Jake i got i question for you, the adapters (1/8 to 1/4 specifically) where did you get them? Because i just started to learn guitar and i want to try recording some stuff into the computer to share with people and mess with... so yeah... also how much was it (if you remember) and it would be cool if you did some guitar lessons for really basic stuff...

you dont explain how to input audio to a laptop, for example i'm wantng to find out how i can record from my portable radio, how is it possible to to do this and what kind of cable do i need?
TykesTVAsh 1 year ago
@TykesTVAsh I talked about that in the video :p
You should have a headphones hole and microphone hole on your laptop. The headphones is your laptops audio output and the microphone is the input.
I don't know the cable you need. You'd probably want a cable that hooks into your radios headphone slot and into the computers microphone/line-in slot. After you have the stream connected, just google some recording software to actually recording.
