I'm a fan of the Midge era of Ultravox, but i heard this track on a CD from Extreme Voice Mag, Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for posting!

leading synth sounds exactly the same like the one on The Anvil (Visage) , the whole song sounds a bit like Visage (more than like Ultravox) youtube.com/watch?feature=play

Yeah, yeah, yeah…
You can say what you want. The fact is, however, that Ultravox! was cold dead by 1979.
The early 80s was Midge’s heyday and whatever he touched turned into sheer gold.
Furthermore, Danny Mitchel co-wrote some of The Gift, not wrote!
I repeat: no Midge, no Ultravox.
:)
BTW, have a good listen to Midge’s 3 other solo studio albums. Try: Lied, Just For You, Live Forever, Guns and Arrows, Somebody...

Cool Video for a crackin tune, well done.

Midge Ure has always struggled on his own,he needs other people to do the doggy work for him...like Danny Mitchel for example who wrote all of his best songs when he went solo after Ultravox(IF I WAS,Perfect Smile etc..),and yes John Foxx was the original singer/songwriter with Ultravox.Midge Ure"s Visage days where the same,he even goes around claiming that he wrote Fade to Grey when he only wrote the lyrics,Chris Payne and Billy Currie done the hard bit.

macksmix,
I say: each to their own. To me, there was no Ultravox before nor after Midge. Amen.
PS. wasn't the band called Ultravox! in the Foxx's days?
;-)
macksmix,
