What are the issues we should take in consideration when buying a new car? Which type of alternative fuel car is the best and why? What about its emissions? And how much does the car cost?
In this session, Dr. Hazem talked about the technological options for sustainable personal mobility and the difference between, series and parallel architectures of hybrid drives.
Then he moved on to the vehicle design approach, the different designs for trucks according to their use and the fuel needed in each case.
Finally he declared that there are still some unresolved issues such as the cost and the efficiency of the battery power life. He said that a good trajectory to follow is research in power electronics, battery improvements, materials and design and real time electronic control.
